Celebrating the Future of Engineering

The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It’s open to current and recent design engineering students, and is run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to get young people excited about design engineering.

For many years, Cox Communications has helped launch this prestigious and exciting award.

A Presidential Premiere in Dublin

Lincoln, Steven Spielberg’s biography of the former US president Abraham Lincoln’s troubles amid the US Civil War, was given its first airing outside of the United States at Dublin’s Savoy cinema.

The European Premier event was held in Dublin after actor Daniel Day Lewis – who won an Oscar for his performance in the title role – agreed to premiere the film in Ireland to raise funds for a hospice in his adopted home of Wicklow.

Cox Communications helped organise and promote the premiere, helped maintain constant liaison between Daniel Day Lewis himself and Wicklow Hospice Foundation, culminating in the successful sale of many items and props from the film at auction, raising thousands of Euros for the Hospice fund.

Over many years I have worked with Emily and her business Cox Communications on a number of different corporate & business projects. She has successfully delivered on B2B as well as B2C events, carried out successful PR strategies that led to a substantial increase in sales and worked with me and different groups of stakeholders on marketing and public relations initiatives. Emily has an intricate understanding of business needs and the correlation between sales and the right marketing mix.  She worked seamlessly with my team to develop communications strategies that directly linked to sales.  As a former press and broadcast journalist Emily’s understanding of the Irish media landscape is second to none and time and time again has secured strong effective national media coverage that helped us to get our message across.
